  We have been trying to file our taxes for last year but are missing the T4 from my husband’s previous employer needed to do so. We attempted to contact the CRA to retrieve the information but found it had not been filed. We also have repeatedly contacted the employer in attempts to get the information. As a last ditch effort, our bookkeeper suggested contacting the past employers accountant to have her give us the information directly, which is Melanie. When we called she flat out refused and said we needed to tell the past employer to pay her or we’d never get our information. We even offered to pay her for the time she’d have to put in to retrieve/get my husband’s T4 in order and she wouldn’t consider it. I can’t imagine trusting someone who is so nasty and un-sympathetic with something as important my personal or professional finances and I will be sharing our experience with anyone I come into contact in both my professional and personal life who is looking for accounting services.
